  • Third Party- Some Campsites will hire a company to handle the menu and food preparations. Strict regulations are in place for food safety and nutritional standards. A team will work in the kitchen and serve cafeteria style. In some instances, the food is brought in with catering equipment in advance of the meal and is served by Camp staff.
  • Self-Staffed- Kitchen staff members work directly for the Camp. They can stay on site or off site with a schedule of meals to attend. Kitchen Cooks and Aides tend to help with all food procurement and production. Food service handling and safety are the founding principals of Camp Kitchens. A prerequisite for the position often includes experience, dietary certifications and clean background information.
  • Kids Cook- With a staff of workers and volunteers, there are themed Summer Camps that concentrate on a child’s involvement in the cooking process. Supervision and shadowing help kids to learn the importance of eating a healthy diet and how to make certain dishes. If they do not help make the actual meal, it is customary to allow them to assist in the cleanup after.
